Maybe the hero doesn't react because he has already determined the trajectory of the knife and knows it won't hit him.
But yeah, I flinch all the time... I'm an EXTREME flincher, in fact.

Well yes. That is of course what's going on there. This is the bases behind the entire badass hero doesn't flinch motif. And or he's just such a badass he doesn't care if it hit him period. Or perhaps he just has really slow reactions, and totally missed anything was even happening, and by the time he noticed it was like ... 'oh.... well now. that is a big knife.'
Maybe its one of those hero abilities, much like knowing exactly what items to pick up that will be useful later. A common super hero power in all kinds of fiction.
I think Tom is right, the hero doesn't flinch because he's so badass he already knew the knife wouldn't hit him somehow.
Or. He's so badass, he knows if the knife hits him, it isn't going to do anything. Because his skin is like knives, and knives can't cut knives. that would be a weird world though.... a world ware knives can cut knives...
That would make a great movie.
iv got one question... have u ever been alone in your house watching tv maby on the comp and the screen is all calm and then.....all of a sudden...something on the screen comes out of nowhere and you flinch out of being suprised?

Wow.....Atleast you don't have crazy flniching like I do. Sometimes, when people screw with me and make me flinch, I extend my hand like a punch to stop it or something along the lines. Which hits them. Yeah.
